The population dwindled to its lowest point, and now the survivors cling to small pockets of a world slowly overtaken by nature. Some have resigned themselves to extinction, living without worry. Others turn to science in a desperate attempt to preserve the human race. Their clashing ideals and methods fuel constant strife. The story unfolds in central Tokyo, one of the last remaining strongholds. Here, the struggle over a rare specimen called "ICE" begins-a discovery that might hold the key to humanity’s survival.
