Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play - S01

After enduring years of obstacles that tested their love, Miaka Yuuki and Taka Sukunami are now married and expecting a child-a testament to their unwavering bond. However, not everyone shares their joy. Mayo Sakaki, one of Taka’s students, harbors feelings for him and struggles to accept his happiness with Miaka. When Mayo stumbles upon The Universe of the Four Gods, she learns it’s the very book where Miaka and Taka first met-she as the priestess of the god Suzaku, and he as her Celestial Warrior, Tamahome. Consumed by jealousy, Mayo enters the book’s world, determined to replace Miaka as Suzaku’s priestess and reshape the story in her favor, no matter the cost. Her reckless actions quickly take a toll. With Miaka left unconscious in the hospital, Taka has no choice but to pursue Mayo into The Universe of the Four Gods, desperate to stop her before his wife and unborn child suffer further harm.
