A year has passed since the founding of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club, but no new members have joined. With Haruka Nanase and Makoto Tachibana now seniors-alongside their younger teammates Nagisa Hazuki and Rei Ryuugazaki-they must find a way to recruit more swimmers. Otherwise, the club faces closure next year due to low membership. As graduation approaches, the seniors must also decide their futures. Unlike their friend Rin Matsuoka, now captain of Samezuka Academy’s swim team and determined to become a professional swimmer, Haruka and Makoto remain uncertain about their paths. Complications arise when Sousuke Yamazaki, an old friend of Rin’s, transfers to Samezuka Academy. The arrival of the talented swimmer strains the already tense relationship between Rin, Haruka, and Sousuke.
