After losing their parents a few years ago, Ryo and his younger sister Akane have managed to build a quiet but stable life together. That fragile peace is shattered when the government intervenes-Japan’s declining birth rates have led to an experimental program forcing young couples into marriage. Ryo resists, but his protests mean little when Shizuka, his assigned bride, arrives at his doorstep one night flanked by government enforcers.
