Dororo and Hyakkimaru - S01

When the ruthless warlord Daigo Kagemitsu seeks power over Japan, he strikes a deal with 48 demons, offering his unborn son in exchange. The demons take the bargain, and the child is born missing limbs before being abandoned in a river. Fifteen years later, a scrappy orphan named Dororo scrapes by in a village ruined by war, dodging both hunger and cruel samurai. After provoking a gang of thugs, Dororo is cornered-until a strange man steps in, sensing a nearby spirit. A monster rises from the water, and the man removes his prosthetic arms, revealing hidden blades to slay the creature before vanishing. Later, Dororo finds the man, Hyakkimaru, in the woods and insists on joining him. Hyakkimaru confesses that demons stole his body parts long ago and that despite his desire for peace, they still hunt him. Undeterred, Dororo refuses to leave his side. Together, with a little dog named Nota, they journey across Japan, confronting the horrors of demons and the cruelty of men.
