Hole is a grim, lawless slum where violence is routine and the strong rule over the weak. A place cut off from morality or justice, it serves as a battleground for magic users-the elite of society-who see its people as nothing more than insects. The powerless residents of Hole are killed, tortured, or experimented on without mercy, their bodies piling up in the district’s hospital every day. The magic users come and go freely, their dominance rarely questioned-except by a handful of rebels. Caiman, a man with the face of a reptile, is one of them. Armed with twin bayonets and a rare immunity to magic, he hunts them relentlessly, desperate for answers. His monstrous appearance and haunting dreams drive him to find a way back to his old life, and magic users are his only lead. His biggest weakness is his hunger, but luckily, he has an ally in Nikaidou, who keeps him fed at her restaurant, the Hungry Bug.
