Daisuke Niwa is an awkward, dim, and timid middle schooler with little to boast about. On his fourteenth birthday, he works up the courage to confess his feelings to his longtime crush, Risa Harada, only to be turned down. But things take a strange turn when Daisuke starts transforming into Dark Mousy, the notorious phantom thief, whenever his heart races for Risa. Unbeknownst to him, this is no accident-his mother has been preparing him since birth to steal priceless art and carry on the legacy of the elusive thief. Caught between doubt and confusion, Daisuke struggles to navigate his relationships with classmates and family. Soon, he discovers he isn’t the only one bound by a family destiny-his greatest rival might just be the classmate he least wants to face.
