Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital
A masked samurai moves through the shadows of Japan, killing five men-three in Tokyo, one in Osaka, and the last in Kyoto. The police soon uncover that the victims were all part of the "Genjibotaru," a gang of thieves specializing in stolen Buddhist artifacts, each named after the followers of Minamoto no Yoshitune. With no clear motive or leads, the investigation stalls-until a Kyoto temple contacts the famous detective Kogorou Mouri. The monks have received an anonymous letter with a strange puzzle and ask for his help to recover their missing statue. Meanwhile, Conan Edogawa teams up with high school detective Heiji Hattori to crack the puzzle and track down the killer, while Hattori searches for his childhood love. Using Hattori’s familiarity with Kyoto, the two comb the city for answers, slowly piecing together the truth. But before they can act, the killer strikes again, murdering another Genjibotaru member and-after multiple failed attempts on Hattori’s life-kidnapping his childhood sweetheart. To stop the samurai’s rampage and save Hattori’s love, Conan and Hattori must work together to uncover the buried secrets behind the killings.
