Kurou Daijuuji is a struggling detective in Arkham City. When Ruri Hado, from the wealthy Hado Financial Group, hires him to find a mysterious magic book, he turns her down-until she offers him a fortune to take the job. During his search, he meets Al, a girl who turns out to be a powerful grimoire in human form. The two form a pact, granting Kurou incredible magical abilities. Soon after, Al awakens Demonbane, a deus machina under Hado Financial Group’s control, to fight against the mechanical threats from the Black Lodge. With this, the conflict between the Hado Financial Group and the Black Lodge erupts into full-scale war.
