The Mikadono sisters-Miwa, Niko, and Kazuki-are known as the Three Royals of Saika Academy, each a prodigy in their own field: shogi, karate, and theater. But their single-minded pursuit of excellence has left them distant from one another, barely more than strangers sharing a home. Yuu Ayase, the son of the late actress Subaru Ayase-a legend of Saika Academy-has none of his mother's talent, much to the dismay of those who expected greatness from him. Yet he enrolls at her old school with a simple goal: to honor her dying wish by creating a real, happy family. By chance, the Mikadono family patriarch, a longtime friend of Subaru, takes Yuu in, giving him a place to stay and a chance at a new beginning. Though the three sisters greet him with icy indifference, Yuu’s earnest, if awkward, kindness might just be the key to bridging the gap between them.
