Cardia Beckford's memories are foggy, but she remembers her father, Isaac, and the isolated home where she lives-shunned by the townspeople who fear her as a monster. A deadly substance courses through her body, housed in the eternal, beating heart embedded in her chest: the Horologium. It grants limitless power, but at a terrible cost-her very touch corrodes anything she encounters. In London, many covet the Horologium, including the terrorist group Twilight, rumored to have ties to Isaac. When the British military captures Cardia to seize the heart’s power, she is abruptly rescued by the thief Arsène Lupin, who vows to "steal her heart" in more ways than one. Traveling with Lupin and his allies, Cardia sets out to uncover the truth about her father’s link to Twilight, her lost memories, and the enigmatic Horologium that defines her fate.
