Chobits - S01

When computers become indistinguishable from humans, does love still mean the same thing? Hideki Motosuwa is a hardworking young man from the countryside, struggling to afford college on his limited means. The latest trend-Persocoms, human-like personal computers-is far beyond his budget. One night, he stumbles upon an abandoned Persocom and brings her home. After activating her, he realizes she might be broken; she only speaks a single word, "Chii," which becomes her name. Unlike normal Persocoms, Chii can't download information, so Hideki takes it upon himself to teach her about the world manually, all while preparing for his entrance exams. With the help of his friends, Hideki begins to suspect Chii might be a "Chobit"-a rumored type of Persocom capable of genuine human emotions, thoughts, and even love. But can a relationship between a human and a machine ever truly work?
