Capeta - S01

After losing his mother as a child, Capeta Taira learns to be self-reliant so his overworked father won't worry about him. His father struggles to make ends meet at a paving company, leaving Capeta to handle chores and endure the bullying of Nobu Andou, despite the kindness of his classmate Monami Suzuki. Though he puts on a tough front, Capeta is just a lonely kid carrying a heavy burden. One day, Capeta's father watches young racers speeding by in go-karts and gets an idea. Gathering scrapped parts from the track, he secretly builds a gift for his son. Curious, Capeta and Monami sneak into his workplace-only to discover a battered but functional kart with Capeta's name on it, though it still lacks an engine. Unable to resist, Capeta takes the kart for a spin down a rain-soaked hill. What could have been a disaster instead sparks an exhilarating thrill, shaking him out of his dull routine. Suddenly, life has purpose again as Capeta's heart races with a newfound passion for speed.
