Bakumatsu - S01

The Bakumatsu period was a time when young men's spirits burned with concern for their country's fate. Takasugi Shinsaku, a wandering warrior from Choshu, boards a government ship with his ally Katsura Kogorou, seeking a strange "timepiece" rumored to control time-a device he believes the authorities want to hoard for themselves. Determined to prevent such power from being misused, Takasugi intends to destroy the artifact, but after securing it, the timepiece is swiftly stolen. The two men chase the thief to Kyoto, the heart of government, only to find the capital overthrown by the god Susanoo. The city and its people are unrecognizable from what Takasugi and Katsura once knew. Though the era has shifted, their goal remains the same: to turn back time and rescue their homeland from those who seek to seize it.
