At 15, Hana Tabata has resigned herself to the idea that she’ll never have a memorable high school romance. She loves shoujo manga, flowers, and cute things, but she sees herself as just another background character-a little overweight, with a round face, glasses, and freckles, traits she thinks make her unremarkable. Then she unexpectedly becomes friends with Yousuke Ueno, a kind and popular classmate. As she wrestles with her mixed feelings about this surprising friendship, Tabata doesn’t realize the love story she’s always wanted is quietly unfolding.
