The Tyrant Falls in Love
A first-year PhD student in agricultural science at a university in Nagoya is known for his hot temper and violent behavior, earning him a reputation as a tyrant among his peers. His antisocial tendencies stem from a traumatic near-rape by a gay professor and other negative encounters with homosexual men, leaving him deeply homophobic. Despite this, he forms an unconscious emotional attachment to his research assistant and friend, Morinaga-a gay man he tolerates on the condition that his sexuality remains a non-issue. To justify his reliance on Morinaga, he convinces himself that occasional sexual encounters are necessary to keep him close, though he refuses to acknowledge the deeper reason he needs Morinaga in his life.
