Steamboy

In Victorian England, the British Empire thrives amid the steam-powered industrial revolution. James Ray Steam, a young man from a family of renowned inventors, spends his days tinkering in Manchester factories and scavenging parts for his own projects. One day, he receives a mysterious package from his grandfather-a peculiar metal ball with a valve attached-sent from America, where his grandfather and father have been working. Soon after, agents from the O'Hara Foundation raid his home, demanding he surrender the device. Frightened and unsure of its significance, Ray flees to the home of his grandfather's associate, Robert Stephenson, with relentless pursuers close behind. As he tries to unravel the ball's secrets and understand its hidden power, Ray realizes nearly everyone in the empire is desperate to take it from him.
