Space Battleship Yamato 2199: Odyssey of the Celestial Ark

In 2199, the Yamato attempts to depart the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy after obtaining the "Cosmo Reverse System" from Iscandar. But as they reach the galaxy’s edge, they encounter a mysterious faction known as "Gatlantis," led by the Gutaba expeditionary commander, Goran Dagaamu of Thunder. He demands the Yamato’s surrender, but the crew, eager to return to Earth, evades capture. During their escape, they are struck by a devastating long-range weapon, the "Flame Direct Attack Cannon," capable of piercing through space itself. Though the Yamato manages to retreat, it becomes lost in an oddly colored, distorted dimension. With no other options, the crew shuts down the ship’s engines and decides to investigate a nearby planet. Kodai, Kiryū, Sawamura, Niimi, and Aihara descend to gather information-only to discover an unexpected ship on the surface. Meanwhile, Dagaamu follows the Yamato’s warp trail and arrives in the same strange dimension. The planet the Yamato landed on, it turns out, is the very thing he has been searching for all along.
