Rurouni Kenshin - S01
Kenshin Himura has been living a quiet life at the Kamiya dojo, but now his vow never to kill faces its greatest challenge. When his old commander is murdered, Kenshin is forced back onto a path of violence to confront Makoto Shishio-a deadly assassin who claims to be the next Battousai. Shishio has spent ten years plotting to overthrow the Meiji government and seize control of Kyoto, assembling a powerful army to back his ambitions. His next target is Aoshi Shinomori, the ruthless ex-leader of the Oniwaban Group, whom he hopes to recruit. Traveling through a village oppressed by Shishio's forces, Kenshin resolves to stop Japan from plunging into another civil war. He reluctantly joins forces with his former rival, Hajime Saitou, in a desperate fight against Shishio's growing empire-a battle that could decide the future of the nation.
