Real Drive

The story is set in 2061, fifty years after humanity built a "Net society" that relied heavily on information networks despite their vulnerabilities. To address security concerns, a new network called the Meta Real Network-or "Metal"-was created. People’s personal memories are converted into data and stored in secure virtual spaces known as bubble shells. This led to a surge of creative freedom, as users felt safe exploring instincts and desires on Metal that they’d never act on in the real world. But the clash between Metal’s unrestrained appeal and the rules of reality caused problems, requiring investigators called "cyber divers" to intervene. Masamichi Haru is one of them.
