Origin: Spirits of the Past

Three hundred years ago, a failed genetic experiment caused Earth’s forests to mutate. Gaining sentience, the plants waged war on humanity, turning the planet into a ruined wasteland. Today, a boy named Agito lives with his father in Neutral City, a settlement locked in a fragile peace with the hostile forest nearby. While fetching water one day, Agito loses his way and discovers an ancient machine-inside lies a sleeping girl. He awakens her, Toola Cm Sacl, and brings her to the village. But powerful forces want to exploit her, as she holds the secret to restoring the world. Tricked by Shunack, a soldier from the past who seeks to annihilate the forest, Toola ignores Agito’s warnings and leaves with him. Determined to rescue her and bridge the divide between humans and the forest, Agito embraces the forest’s power and sets out after her.
