Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga
In 1582, the fearsome warlord Oda Nobunaga faced death at Honnouji. Standing before a Buddha statue, he reflected on his life of sin and mused that he’d probably be reborn as a dog. To his surprise, Buddha took his words literally-he awakens in modern Japan, trapped in the body of a Shiba Inu named Shinamon. Nobunaga is less than pleased to find his warlord’s mind stuck in a cute, instinct-driven pet. He wavers between embracing the perks (like wearing a ruff, just like the Europeans did) and resenting his new reality (only to discover the ruff is actually a bath hat, and now he has to endure a bath). To make matters stranger, many of his old warrior allies seem to have been reborn as dogs too-while his old rival appears to have gotten the better deal, reincarnated as a human.
