Maison Ikkoku

Godai is a ronin-someone who failed his university entrance exams-living in a rundown apartment building called Maison Ikkoku. His neighbors include the gossipy Ichinose, the flirtatious Akemi Roppongi, and the enigmatic Yotsuya. The others often throw loud parties, making it hard for Godai to focus on his studies. Things change when Kyoko, a young widow, arrives as the new live-in manager. Godai quickly develops feelings for her but struggles to confess. Over time, their relationship gradually grows, despite the chaos of daily life at Maison Ikkoku and the many obstacles in their way.
