Inuyashiki - S01

Ichirou Inuyashiki is a 58-year-old man struggling with loneliness and chronic pain. His family barely tolerates him, and the only comfort he finds is in Hanako, a stray Shiba Inu he takes in. When a doctor informs him he has terminal stomach cancer and only months left to live, Ichirou tries to stay strong-but his family's coldness breaks him. Overwhelmed, he flees to a field, clutching his dog as he sobs, until a strange figure appears before him. A blinding light engulfs him, and when the dust settles, Ichirou realizes he’s no longer human-his body has been replaced by a mechanical one, disguised as his old self. Though horrified at first, his kindness remains unchanged, and he immediately uses his new abilities to save someone, reigniting his sense of purpose. Yet questions linger. Who was the mysterious figure at the explosion? And are they as benevolent as Ichirou in wielding this dangerous power?
