Hi Score Girl
The year is 1991, and sixth grader Haruo Yaguchi’s only passion in life is video games. He isn’t popular, good-looking, funny, kind, or even particularly likable-his only skill is gaming. One day at the local arcade, he faces off against Akira Oono, a classmate who’s everything he’s not: popular, smart, pretty, and wealthy. She obliterates him at Street Fighter II, beating him 30 times in a row. No matter what game they play, Haruo can’t win. Strangely, Akira starts following him from arcade to arcade every day after school, relentlessly defeating him each time. Despite how odd their dynamic is, the two begin to form an unlikely friendship.
