Girl Meets Bear
The story centers on Machi, a middle school student who works as a shrine maiden at a Shinto shrine in Japan's northern Tohoku region. She looks after a bear named Natsu, who lives on the mountain and can speak. Natsu acts as her guardian. When Machi tells him she's leaving to attend school in the city, Natsu sets a series of challenges for her to complete-tests she must overcome to prove she can handle life away from home.
