Galaxy Express 999: The Movie

Tetsurou Hoshino is determined to get a mechanical body that will make him immortal-his only chance at avenging his mother’s death at the hands of the machine man Count Mecha. But the cost is impossibly high, so his only option is to steal a ticket for the Galaxy Express 999, a legendary space train that travels the galaxy. Its final destination is a planet where mechanical bodies are given away for free. After snatching a boarding pass, Tetsurou is chased by the police and collapses into the arms of a woman named Maetel, who looks eerily like his mother. When he wakes up, she offers him passage on the 999-but only if he agrees to travel with her. Tetsurou accepts, and together they embark on a journey across the stars.
