Fruits Basket - S01
フルーツバスケット , Furuba
After losing her mother in an accident, 16-year-old Tooru moves in with her grandfather. When his house undergoes renovations, she can no longer stay there. Unwilling to burden her friends or face her family’s judgment, she quietly sets up a tent in the woods, pretending she has somewhere else to go. One night, returning from work, she finds her tent destroyed by a landslide. Yuki Souma, her school’s so-called "prince," and his cousin Shigure, a well-known writer, discover her predicament and offer her temporary shelter at their home. But the Souma family hides a bizarre secret: if embraced by someone of the opposite sex, they briefly turn into animals from the zodiac. Far from a harmless quirk, this curse carries a painful past. As Tooru meets more members of the family, her gentle but strong spirit will be tested-what awaits her behind the Souma household’s closed doors?
