Shirou Emiya was orphaned as a child after a fire took his parents, and he was eventually taken in by a sorcerer named Kiritsugu Emiya. Years later, Shirou finds himself caught in the Holy Grail War, where he summons a female warrior called Saber to fight alongside him and help claim the Holy Grail.
