E's Otherwise
"E's" is a Japanese shonen manga series created by Satoru Yuiga. It ran in Monthly GFantasy from 1997 to 2005 and was later collected into 16 volumes by Square Enix, released between March 2003 and February 2010. The story follows Kai Kudou, an "Esper" with psychic abilities, who is recruited by an organization called Ashurum. They claim to protect psychics from persecution by ordinary humans, but after a failed mission in Gald, Kai ends up living with a man named Yuuki and his adoptive sister Asuka. As Kai uncovers more about Ashurum, he questions their real motives while worrying about his sick sister, who remains in their care. The manga was adapted into a 26-episode anime called "E's Otherwise," produced by Studio Pierrot. It aired on TV Tokyo from April to September 2003. Two light novels and three drama CDs based on the series were also released in Japan. In 2006, Broccoli Books licensed the manga for English publication in North America. ADV Films acquired the anime, broadcasting the English-dubbed version on Anime Network."
