Dies Irae

On May 1, 1945, as Soviet forces raise their flag over the Reichskanzlei in Berlin, a group of Nazi officers perform a secret ritual. To them, the bloodshed in the city is not just chaos-it’s the perfect sacrifice to summon the Order of the 13 Lances, a legendary group of superhumans whose return could bring about the world’s ruin. Years later, no one knows whether the ritual worked or what became of those officers. Their story faded into obscurity, and those who once knew of it have mostly passed away. Now, in present-day Suwahara City, Ren Fujii spends his days confined to a hospital. Every night, the same nightmare haunts him: a guillotine, killers stalking the streets, and black-clad knights hunting those killers. He longs to return to an ordinary life, but his friend Shiro’s warning lingers in his mind: "Everyone who stays in this city eventually loses their mind."
