Den-noh Coil
"Den-noh Coil," also known as "Coil - A Circle of Children," is a Japanese sci-fi anime series set in a near future where augmented reality (AR) technology is becoming widespread. The story unfolds in the fictional city of Daikoku, a hub for AR innovation with a growing virtual layer over the real world. A group of kids explores this blended reality using AR glasses, uncovering its secrets by employing unauthorized software, tricks, and digital pets to interact with the hidden digital environment. The series marked the directorial debut of animator Mitsuo Iso, who spent over ten years developing it. It first aired on NHK Educational TV on May 12, 2007. With its talented production team and a prime-time broadcast slot, the show generated significant anticipation before its release.
