Dear Dotty

Yasuo works at a ramen shop and is dating Yukiko, a charming news reporter. Struggling with money, he stumbles into petty theft after a customer forgets a green jacket at the restaurant. Using the jacket as a disguise, he begins pickpocketing wallets in Tokyo’s crowded streets to make extra cash. With his stolen earnings, he buys Yukiko a ring-though she insists he didn’t need to. As time passes, Yasuo grows fixated on becoming like Lupin, the legendary thief. He devours every book and film about him, even teaming up briefly with Jigen, one of Lupin’s associates. But when Yasuo hears about the priceless Ice Cube diamond, he becomes convinced that stealing it will finally prove he’s the real deal.
