Case Closed: The Fist of Blue Sapphire
In the late 19th century, the world's most famous blue sapphire, the "blue lapis fist," was lost when the pirate ship carrying it sank off the coast of Singapore. Now, a local millionaire plans to recover the gem and display it at an exhibition in Singapore's Marina Sands hotel-but when a murder occurs at the event, a bloody calling card from the phantom thief Kaitou Kid is found at the scene. Meanwhile, Ran and Sonoko travel to Singapore to watch a karate tournament. Conan, unable to go abroad without a passport, was supposed to stay behind-but Kid tricks him into coming to Singapore against his will. To return home, Conan must cooperate with Kid, even after having his glasses, watch, and clothes stolen, forcing him to disguise himself. When Ran meets him but doesn’t recognize him, Conan hastily introduces himself as Arthur Hirai. Kid soon learns the "fist" is hidden in an underground vault beneath a wealthy manor. Just as he thinks he’s broken in without trouble, he walks straight into a deadly trap-and comes face-to-face with Makoto Kyogoku, the undefeated karate champion with 400 straight wins.
