Sixty years ago, a mysterious wave of insomnia spread through the population, leaving people unable to sleep for over a week. The sleep-deprived victims all lost their minds. A cure was developed, but its side effects turned the patients into vampires. Humans fought and won the war against them, though a few vampires survived. The protagonist, Mi Liu, known as "The Child of Hope," is the offspring of a human and a vampire, destined to bridge the divide between the two species.
