After waking in a coffin at the bottom of a lake twenty years ago with no memory of her past, Bayonetta is determined to uncover the truth. As an Umbra Witch, she hunts the forces of Heaven relentlessly, both to find answers and to honor her pact with the demons that grant her power. She relies on Rodin, a mysterious bartender and weapons dealer, for guidance and armaments. Meanwhile, journalist Luka Redgrave shadows her every move, convinced she holds the key to his father’s death and will go to any lengths to expose her. Her search takes an unexpected turn when she meets a young girl named Cereza, but her path is blocked by Jeanne, a fellow Umbra Witch who serves the very forces Bayonetta should be fighting.
