Reports of monsters attacking the reactor at Mount Nibel prompt the Shinra Electric Power Company to send their elite unit, SOLDIER, to investigate. Sephiroth, a celebrated war hero, leads the mission alongside fellow SOLDIER First Class Zack Fair and a handful of company guards. Their orders are to assess the Mako reactor's condition. In the nearby village of Nibelheim, which relies on the reactor's power, Sephiroth uncovers the truth behind the monsters and the dark history of Shinra's infamous Jenova Project. Months later, Zack is on the run, far from the heroic future he once imagined. Pursued by Shinra's General Affairs Department-the Turks-who are determined to silence him and his companion, he carries with him the dangerous truth they want erased.
