Venus, the goddess, resents the beautiful human girl Psyche, believing her pet unicorn Unico is the reason for her good fortune-protecting her from Venus’s malice. Unico has a mysterious gift: he brings happiness to everyone he meets, though no one knows if it’s his kind nature or the magic of his horn. After Venus exiles him, the West Wind carries Unico across time and place. He lands in a grimy, polluted city where he meets Chiko, a frail girl made ill by the factory poisoning the air. Unico resolves to lift her spirits, heal her, and tear down the factory darkening the sky.
